Disorganized, Endless, and Unprofessional Course
5/19/2026
- Dr TAM Wai Yin, TANG Wai Fong (2025/2026 Semester 2)
This is genuinely one of the worst courses I have ever taken in university, and I strongly recommend every student to avoid this subject at all costs. The course management was completely terrible from start to finish. The teaching quality was poor, the instructor’s attitude was unprofessional and unhelpful, and the entire semester felt extremely disorganised. The instructor’s manner was honestly one of the biggest problems. Questions from students were often not handled properly, guidance was unclear, and communication was inconsistent throughout the course. Instead of supporting students, the teaching approach created confusion, frustration, and unnecessary pressure. It felt like students were expected to figure out everything themselves without proper supervision or assistance. The time management of this course was an absolute disaster. Deadlines, project coordination, and scheduling were handled horribly. The workload kept piling up without proper planning, and students were forced to continue working on the project even after the semester officially ended, after the examination period, and unbelievably even after grades had already been released. I have never experienced such poor course management before. A properly designed university course should end within the semester timeline, not continue endlessly because of poor organization. The project itself was badly designed and extremely stressful. Expectations were unclear, requirements changed frequently, and the workload was unreasonable compared to the support provided. Instead of helping students learn engineering design in a meaningful way, the course became a source of constant stress, frustration, and wasted time. Honestly, this subject feels like it should be completely restructured or removed until major improvements are made. The poor teaching quality, terrible coordination, weak communication, and endless project workload made this course a nightmare experience. There are many better electives and engineering subjects available, so do yourself a favor and DO NOT TAKE THIS SUBJECT unless you want unnecessary stress, poor guidance, terrible time management, and one of the most frustrating university experiences possible.
