Put in some effort and you'll be fine

- Vicente Gonzalez Vallejo (2025/2026 Semester 1)

It might be a bit overwhelming if you're learning a new language for the first time, but if you enjoy language learning (especially if you have some Spanish knowledge, or even French), you should enjoy it. Participation makes up a sizeable part of the grade, so GO TO CLASS(!!!) and try to answer at least one question a class. Taking notes is also quite important as there's content discussed during the lecture that won't be on the slides here and there. The quizzes aren't bad if you go through your notes at least a day or two beforehand. The group work will be pretty annoying if you have bad group mates, so try to group up with friends or people who seem more invested in the class. Homework is pretty optional (except the graded ones), but it does help a lot with content retention.
