What to look out

- Chau Tak Wai (2025/2026 Semester 2)
Very chill and soft spoken professor. However, Dr. Tak Wai CHAU is not as well versed in modern day economics and business if do find yourself wanting to discuss in depth beyond lecture content (25/26 2 sem) - this is OK if you wish to do the course for credits and isn't interested beyond theory Do attend most lectures or you WILL fall behind, not like intro to economics Students are expected to do their own reading or research, for understanding, due to the abundant content and rushed nature of this course. (Not enough classes to cover lecture content and concepts in depth) - We had to self study for the last two topics before the final exam for this sem Expect Dr. Chau to read off slides to some extent - sometimes Dr. CHAU will make mishaps (? Not sure why, long day maybe) Course and exam is overly mathematical than it should be ("Should be more focused on concepts with mathematics as a tool of application of knowledge instead of concepts revolving around the Mathematical formulas" - subjective, coming from a STEM student). Expect mediocre Calculus and do learn the notations. Dr. Chau tends to employ a more "keyword-driven" rubric so do look out for those too - doesn't matter if your answers have conceptual application. You will be penalized Overall decent course and lecturer. Easy for those interested in econ to get an OK grade, not too difficult with limited effort. like all econ courses, content here is highly theoretical with very limited practical application in the real world
